This is the bait that started it all at Case Plastics. The Mad Tom, commonly called a Willow Cat which looks like a baby bullhead. The Mad Tom were as important to walleye fishermen on the Mississippi river as shiners are to lake fisherman. The DNR banned using live Willow Cats in 2004. Thats when Charlie Case created the soft plastic Mad Tom. They have been wildly successful. And more recently, with the goby invasion, they work great as a drop shot or ball jig bait.
