This is the bait that started it all at Case Plastics! The "Mad Tom", is commonly called a "Willow Cat" which looks like a baby catfish. This natural river forage fish was as important to walleye fishermen on the Mississippi river as shiners are to lake fishermen. The DNR banned the use of live "Willow Cats" in 2004. That's when Charlie Case created the soft plastic "Mad Tom". This longer, salted version is made of a SINKING soft plastic. More recently, with the goby invasion, they work great as a drop shot, on a ball head jig, or fished Ned Rig style.
